- India’s retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), dropped to 2.10% in June 2025, the lowest since January 2019.
- This marks a sharp fall from 2.82% in May 2025, driven by positive base effects and easing inflation across major food categories.
- The Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) has showed a year-on-year contraction of -1.06% (provisional) in June 2025 compared to June 2024.
- Rural CFPI-based food inflation recorded -0.92% (provisional), while urban food inflation stood at -1.22% (provisional) in June 2025.
