Scheme name

  • Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To help poor parents financially in getting their daughters married and to promote the educational status of poor girls.

Assistance provided

  • Scheme –I Rs.25,000 + 8 gram (1 sovereign - 22 carat) gold coin is provided for making Thirumangalyam.
  • Scheme-II Rs.50,000 + 8 gram (1 sovereign - 22 carat) gold coin for making Thirumangalyam.

Intended beneficiary

  • The benefit will be given in the name of the mother or father of girls.
  • In case of death of the parents, it will be given to the bride.

Income limit

  • Not exceeding Rs.24,000 per annum for the family.

Age limit

  • The bride should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.
  • There is no upper age limit.

Educational Criteria

Scheme-1

  • The Beneficiary should have should have studied 10th Std (Passed or failed).
  • The Beneficiary should have should have studied 5th Std in case of Scheduled Tribe.

  • The Beneficiary should have studied Degree or Diploma

Scheme name

  • Dharmambal Ammaiyar Ninaivu Widow Remarriage Assistance Scheme

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To encourage widow remarriage and to rehabilitate widows.

Assistance provided

  • Scheme-1: Rs.25,000 (Rs.15000 by cheque and Rs.10,000 as National Saving Certificate) along with 8 gram  (1 sovereign - 22 carat) Gold coin is provided for making Thirumangalyam.
  • Scheme-2 : Rs. 50,000 (Rs.30,000 by cheque  and  20,000  National  Saving Certificate) + 8 gram (1 sovereign - 22 carat) Gold coin for making Thirumangalyam.

Intended beneficiary

  • Widow who remarries

Income limit

  • No income ceiling

Age limit

  • Minimum age of 20 years for the bride and maximum age of 40 for the bridegroom.

  • E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme for Daughters of Poor Widows

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To help the Poor widow mothers who face financial hardship in conducting their daughter’s marriage by providing financial assistance for the marriage of their daughters.

Assistance provided

  • Scheme-I - 25,000 by  Cheque  +  8  gram  (1 sovereign - 22 carat) Gold coin is provided for making Thirumangalyam.
  • Scheme-II - 50,000 by Cheque  +  8  gram  (1 sovereign - 22 carat) Gold coin for making Thirumangalyam.

Intended beneficiary

  • To the bride’s widowed mother.
  • The benefit can be given to the bride in case of the death of the applicant.

Income limit

  • The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs.24,000.

Age limit

  • The bride should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.
  • There is no upper age limit.

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To help the orphan girls financially for their marriage.

  • Scheme -1 : Rs.25,000 as cheque  +  8  gram  (1 sovereign - 22 carat) Gold coin is for making Thirumangalyam.
  • Scheme-2 : Rs. 50,000 as cheque +  8  gram  (1 sovereign - 22 carat) Gold coin for making Thirumangalyam.

  • To the Orphan Girls

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To abolish caste and community feelings based on birth and wiping out the discrimination by encouraging inter-caste marriage.

Assistance provided

  • Scheme-1: Rs.25,000 (Rs.15,000 as Rs.10,000 in the form of National Saving Certificate) 8 gram (1 sovereign - 22 carat) Gold coin is provided for making ‘Thirumangalyam’.
  • Scheme-2: Rs.50,000 (Rs.30,000 as Cheque and Rs.20,000 in the form of National Saving certificate) 8 gram (1 sovereign - 22 carat) Gold coin is provided for making ‘Thirumangalyam’.

  • Inter-caste married couple.

Eligibility Criteria

Scheme-1

  • The financial assistance is provided to newly married couples of whom one spouse should be from Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe and the other from a different Community.

Scheme-2

  • The financial assistance is provided to a newly married couple of whom one spouse is from other community   (forward community) and the other from the Backward Class  /  Most  Backward Class Community.

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To provide institutional care to widows, destitute, deserted women, adolescent girls and differently abled women who are economically and socially backward by giving them protection, education, and vocational training.

  • Accommodation, food, education and vocational training, Textbooks and notebooks and uniforms free of cost Intended beneficiary

Income limit

  • Not exceeding Rs.24,000 per annum except differently abled.

Age limit

  • Between 14 and 45 years

Scheme name

  • Sathiyavani Muthu Ammaiyar Ninaivu Free Supply of Sewing Machine Scheme

Objectives of the Scheme

  • Sewing Machines are supplied free of cost with a view to increasing the self-employment potential for rehabilitation of Destitute women/widows, deserted wives, Differently Abled men and women, socially affected other women and women from economically weaker sections.

Assistance provided

  • Sewing machine and accessories

Intended beneficiary

  • Destitute women/widows, deserted wives, Differently Abled men and women, Socially affected women and women from economically weaker sections.

Income limit

  • Not exceeding Rs.24,000 per annum

Age limit

  • 20 to 40 years

Educational Criteria

  • No educational qualification.

 

Scheme name

  • Pension Scheme for Destitute Transgenders

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To help poor and Destitute Transgenders above 40 years of age who are unable to earn their livelihood

Assistance provided

  • 1000 per month per Transgender (By Revenue Department)

Intended beneficiary

  • Poor and Destitute Transgenders above 40 years

Eligibility

  • Above 40 years of age.
  • Should have I.D Card provided by Transgenders Welfare Board, Age Certificate provided by Medical Committee and Residential Certificate or Family Card.
  • Transgenders who are unable to work physically and earn.
  • Transgenders who are not provided help by any of the family member or any other person.

Scheme name

  • Sathya Ammaiyar Ninaivu Government Children Homes

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To provide education to destitute, deserted and abandoned children by giving free food, clothing, shelter and medical care.

Assistance provided

  • Food, accommodation, education, uniform, free textbooks and notebooks, medical facilities, chappals, and bedding.

Intended beneficiary

  • Destitute, deserted and abandoned children, children without parents or with a single parent, children of ailing parents and prisoners, children whose parents are alive but father/mother is severely differently abled and is looked after by mother/father.

Income limit

  • Not exceeding Rs.24,000 per annum

Age limit

  • Girl children in the age of 5-18 years are allowed to attend school in the premises and boys are allowed to attend the school up to 5th standard in the premises.
  • Girls without father and mother are admitted up to 21 years for their higher studies

Educational Criteria

  • No educational Qualification requires

Scheme name

  • Chief Minister’s Girl Child Protection Scheme.

Objectives of the Scheme

  • Promoting the education of girl children
  • Eradicating female infanticide
  • Discouraging the preference for male child.
  • Promoting the small family norm
  • Promoting the welfare of girl children in poor families and to raise the status of girl children.

Assistance provided

  • Scheme- I for one Girl Child
    • A sum of Rs.22,200 is deposited in the name of the girl child in the form of a fixed deposit with Tamil   Nadu   Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for 20 years for a family with only one girl child.
    • This amount has been enhanced to Rs.50,000 in case of the girl child born on or after 01/08/2011.
  • Scheme- II for two Girl Children
    • A sum of Rs.15,200 is deposited in the name of each girl child in the form of a fixed deposit with Tamil Nadu Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for 20 years, for a family with two girl children.
    • This amount has been enhanced to Rs.25,000 in case the Girl children born on or after 01/08/2011.

  • Girl children in poor families

Income limit

  • To get benefit under Scheme-I annual income should not exceed Rs.50,000
  • To get benefit under Scheme-II annual income should not exceed Rs.24,000.

Other Criteria

  • Either of the parents should have undergone sterilization surgery within 35 years of age.
  • The family should have only one/two female children and no male child. In the future, no male child should be adopted.
  • The parents/ grandparents should be a domicile of Tamil Nadu for a period of 10 years at the time of submitting the application.
  • This scheme has been extended to girl children of Srilankan Tamil Refugees in the Refugee camps.

  • Child Adoption Scheme

Objectives of the Scheme

  • To provide a family for orphaned, abandoned, destitute and neglected children.

Assistance provided

  • Accommodation, food, and healthcare to the babies till they are given in adoption.
  • A family to the destitute child and a child to childless parents.

Income limit

  • The Prospective Adoptive Parents should have adequate financial resources to provide a good upbringing to the child.

Special concession was given to female Government employees to adopt children

  • Child Adoption Leave of 180 days is given to female government servants of State Government who adopt child below one year. The leave is eligible only from the date of the legalization of adoption.
