The 11th Ayurveda Day was observed on 23 September 2026 to promote awareness of Ayurveda and its role in health and wellness.
The theme for the year 2026 is “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”.
Ayurveda Day was first observed in 2016.
From 2026, Ayurveda Day is observed every year on 23 September, after the Government fixed the date through a Gazette notification in 2025.
The 2026 celebration was the first Ayurveda Day on the fixed date; earlier, it was observed on Dhanteras (Dhanwantari Jayanti), so the date changed each year.
The Ministry of Ayush promotes Ayurveda through healthcare services, research institutions, education, quality standards and international cooperation.
