- The first Assembly of the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) was held in New Delhi.
- Prime Minister of India announced the IBCA in 2023 in Mysuru, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Project Tiger.
- The Indian government has also established the IBCA through the National Tiger Conservation Authority in March 2024.
- IBCA is a coalition of 95 range countries with a mandate for the conservation of seven big cats
- The seven big cats are Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Cheetah, Jaguar and Puma.
