  • Two 2,000-year-old Indian gold rings were discovered at the Don Yai Thong archaeological site in Phetchaburi Province, Thailand.
  • One gold ring bears the ancient Brahmi script inscription "pusarakhitasa", meaning "the one protected by Pushya", while the other ring is plain.
  • The rings were found with human skeletal remains from the Iron Age, indicating early burial practices.
  • The discovery provides evidence of early maritime trade and cultural links between India and Southeast Asia.
  • Brahmi is one of the earliest writing systems of the Indian subcontinent, and Pushya is one of the 27 Nakshatras (lunar mansions) in Indian astronomy.
