- They are notified under the Fertiliser Control Order (FCO), 1985.
- In 2021, the bio stimulants were officially incorporated into the FCO, categorizing them as distinct class of fertilisers.
- The Bio stimulants or Plant conditioners are natural or biological products that help plants grow by improving nutrient absorption and resistance to stress.
- They do not include the pesticides or plant growth regulators, which are covered under the Insecticides Act, 1968.
