- The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme was launched on 2 October 1975 by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
- As of 2025, ICDS has been renamed and merged into Mission Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0.
- India has 13.96 lakh (1.396 million) anganwadi centres serving over 7.65 crore (76.5 million) children.
- ICDS provides early childhood care, education, nutrition, and health services for children under six.
