- The International Air Transport Association's (IATA) 81st annual general meeting was held in Delhi.
- Earlier, India hosted the event in 1958 and 1983.
- IATA was established in April 1945 in Havana, Cuba, as a successor to the 1919 International Air Traffic Association.
- Now it supports over 317 member airlines from 120+ countries (82% of global air traffic).
