  • It is a small Polynesian island nation located in the west-central Pacific Ocean.
  • Tuvalu consists of 9 atolls and reef islands covering 676 kilometers, with a land area of only 26 square kilometers.
  • Tuvalu’s capital is Vaiaku, located on Funafuti Atoll.
  • The islands are extremely low-lying, with elevations of just 4 to 5 meters above sea level.
  • Tuvalu has no rivers and depends on rainwater and wells for freshwater.
