- Achanakmar Tiger Reserve, located in Bilaspur, was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1975 and became a tiger reserve in 2009.
- It is part of the Achanakmar–Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve.
- It serves as a key corridor between Kanha and Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserves.
- The reserve is inhabited by tribal communities such as Baiga (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group), Gond, and Yadav.
