The Centre approved Adani Power Limited’s proposal to link its 1,600 MW Godda Ultra Super Critical Thermal Power Plant in Jharkhand to the Indian grid.
The plant, declared an SEZ (Special Economic Zone) in March 2019, had been supplying power exclusively to Bangladesh under a long-term agreement.
Approval allows the plant to connect to the Indian grid through the Kahalgaon A–Maithon B line, passing through 56 villages in Godda district.
The Ministry of Power granted Adani Power authority under Section 164 of the Electricity Act 2003, similar to telegraph authority powers for transmission line installation.
