- The 16th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) Experts Working Group on Counter Terrorism was held in New Delhi.
- India and Malaysia jointly co-chair the 16th Experts Working Group under the ADMM-Plus framework.
- The meeting is part of the 2024–2027 three-year cycle of Experts Working Groups focusing on counter-terrorism cooperation.
- These Discussions cover information sharing, operational coordination, capacity building, and best practices to address terrorist threats in the Indo-Pacific region.
- Table Top Exercise planning was held on 14 January 2026.
- Malaysia will host the exercise later in 2026, and India will conduct a Field Training Exercise in 2027.
- ADMM-Plus serves as a platform for practical defence cooperation in areas like maritime security, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, peacekeeping, military medicine, mine action, and cyber security.
