- India will conduct its first nationwide Adult Skill Assessment Survey in 2026.
- The survey will be conducted by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) using the Comprehensive Modular Survey (CMS) framework.
- It is being carried out at the request of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
- The survey will cover persons aged 18 years and above and will be conducted over three months.
- Adult skills will be classified into basic, intermediate, and advanced levels.
- The survey aims to fill the data gap on actual skill levels, which is not covered by the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS).
