- The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas launched the Apna Ghar initiative to provide safe and hygienic resting spaces for truck drivers on highways.
- Three hundred sixty-eight resting centres have been built by the government oil companies.
- Facilities include dormitories, clean toilets, bathing areas, restaurants, cooking zones and purified drinking water.
- The scheme aims to improve the driver welfare and support the better highway infrastructure as part of national logistics efforts.
