It is set up as a not-for-profit institution under Section 8 of the Companies Act to create structured frameworks for partnerships and policy alignment.
The alliance focuses on improving agri-food value chains and promoting knowledge and technology sharing between the regions.
Asia and Africa together contribute over 40 percent of global agricultural production, making this collaboration important.
The bilateral agricultural trade between the two regions exceeds 90 billion US dollars annually.
