Vinaya Prakash Singh, a senior Indian Postal Service (IPoS) officer, was re-elected unopposed as Secretary-General of the Asian-Pacific Postal Union (APPU) for a second four-year term (2027–2030).
APPU is an intergovernmental organisation of 32 Asia-Pacific countries and a regional union under the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
It is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, and aims to improve postal cooperation among member countries.
APPU originated as the Asian-Oceanic Postal Union (AOPU) in 1962 and became APPU in 1981.
It promotes postal cooperation, cross-border logistics, e-commerce and technical capacity building in the region.
