The Green India Challenge (GIC) launched a pilot bamboo plantation project in Mullagutta 2 village, Adilabad district, Telangana.
The project aims to restore the traditional livelihoods of the Kolam Adivasis, a PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group).
It addresses the bamboo shortage faced by the Kolam tribes due to restricted access to forest resources.
The initiative, led by Santosh Joginapalli, founder of GIC, focuses on sustainable bamboo supply and training tribal artisans in advanced bamboo craftsmanship.
