Biovigilance Programme of India

India launched the Biovigilance Programme of India (BvPI) in New Delhi during the 6th National Pharmacovigilance Week.
BvPI will monitor adverse events related to biological products used in organ and tissue transplantation.
The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) will lead the monitoring of these safety events.
Biovigilance complements Pharmacovigilance and Materiovigilance programmes for medicines and medical devices.
The 7th Edition of the National Formulary of India (NFI) and its digital version were also released on 21 September 2026.
