  • It forms when rain passes through polluted air containing smoke, hydrocarbons, sulphur oxides, and nitrogen compounds.
  • The World Health Organization (WHO) warned that it may cause breathing problems, skin irritation, headaches, and chemical burns.
  • Long-term exposure to chemicals like benzene can increase the risk of cancer.
