- The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has approved the creation of two new cadres within the Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD).
- They will be known as the Central Revenue Audit (CRA) Cadre and the Central Expenditure Audit (CEA) Cadre.
- The reform will take effect from 1 January 2026 to enhance expertise and improve the quality of auditing Central Government finances.
