- Calotes zolaiking, a species of garden lizard, was first described in 2019 in Mizoram’s Aizawl district.
- This lizard species is now recorded in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.
- India is home to 14 species of Calotes, nine of which have been recorded in the Northeast.
