- The Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2026 was released at the United Nations (UN) COP30 Summit in Brazil.
- Denmark was ranked highest at 4th place with 80.52 points, while the top three positions remained vacant.
- Saudi Arabia ranked last at 67th position with 11.9 points.
- India fell 13 places from 10th to 23rd position with a score of 61.31.
- India was rated “medium” in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, climate policy, and energy use.
- India scored “low” in renewable energy performance as per the report by Germanwatch, New Climate Institute, and Climate Action Network.
