- The Initiative is a multilateral partnership of the six countries namely Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste.
- The Coral Triangle, often dubbed as the 'Amazon of the Seas,' is a marine bio diversity hotspot.
- It houses 15 unique species and boasts the highest diversity of reef fish in the world, with 37% of global reef fish species found here.
- Despite covering only 1.5% of the Earth's surface, the Coral Triangle contains 30% of the planet's coral reefs.
- This year's theme is “One Triangle, Infinite Beauty”.
