The Ministry of Mines issued detailed guidelines for the ₹1,500 crore Critical Mineral Recycling Incentive Scheme.
The scheme aims to boost India’s capacity to recycle critical minerals from secondary sources such as e-waste, spent lithium-ion batteries, and industrial scrap.
The scheme supports both large and small recyclers, including start-ups, in setting up or expanding recycling facilities.
The initiative aligns with India’s broader goals of resource efficiency, circular economy promotion, and reducing import dependence on strategic minerals.
