- Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won the gold medal in the women's 48 kg event at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.
- She lifted a total of 190 kg to win her third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal.
- This is her fourth consecutive Commonwealth Games medal after silver (2014) and gold medals (2018, 2022 and 2026).
- Mirabai Chanu became the first Indian weightlifter to win three consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medals.
- She is also an Olympic silver medallist (Tokyo 2020) and a World Weightlifting Champion (2017).
