- Delhi government notified the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0 to promote electric mobility and reduce vehicular emissions.
- The policy aims to achieve 30% electrification of Delhi’s total vehicle fleet by 31 March 2030.
- From 1 January 2027, only electric three-wheelers and N1 category goods vehicles will be registered in Delhi.
- From 1 April 2028, only electric two-wheelers will be eligible for new registration.
- Existing fossil-fuel vehicles will be allowed to complete their lifecycle.
- The policy provides incentives, scrappage benefits, and expansion of charging infrastructure.
- It excludes hybrid vehicles from subsidies and focuses only on pure electric vehicles.
