The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) approved 22 new projects under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) in the third tranche.
These 22 projects are expected to create a total of 34,061 job opportunities across India.
Tamil Nadu alone accounts for 23,451 jobs from three projects by Tata Electronics, Motherson, and Foxconn.
Foxconn’s Yuzhan Technology project in Tamil Nadu received the single largest approval under this tranche of ECMS.
The total investment approved in the third tranche is ₹41,863 crore.
Of this, ₹27,166 crore worth of enclosures investment comes only from Tamil Nadu.
