  • The JCB Prize for Literature has been discontinued after the seven years, with no future editions planned.
  • The prize was known for promoting the linguistic diversity and recognising the translations.
  • It was launched in 2018.
  • The prize was sponsored by the JCB India and managed by the JCB Literature Foundation, a not-for-profit body.
  • It honoured fiction written in English or Indian language works translated into English.
  • Out of the seven winners from 2018 to 2024, five were translated works from languages like Malayalam, Tamil, and Urdu.
