EOS-05 Earth Observation Mission

ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) successfully launched EOS-05, using the GSLV-F17 (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-F17) launch vehicle at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
It placed EOS-05, an Earth observation satellite, into a Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (Sub-GTO).
EOS-05 is India’s first imaging satellite designed to operate from a geosynchronous orbit, enabling repeated observation of large areas.
Earth observation data can be used for agriculture, disaster management, water resources, forestry, environmental monitoring and urban planning.
The mission is the 19th flight of the GSLV, demonstrating India’s capability to place spacecraft into high-energy orbits.
