The Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) have renewed the ‘One Herb, One Standard’ initiative for another three years.
The initiative aims to establish common scientific standards for medicinal plants used in Ayurveda, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, Unani and Homoeopathy.
The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H) and Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for three years.
In the first phase, launched through a 2022 MoU, the two institutions developed 50 monographs on medicinal plants.
The renewed initiative will expand standardisation and align Indian standards with international quality requirements to improve the reliability and global acceptance of traditional medicines.
