Hong Kong-based startup Stellerus Technology will deploy the Feilian Constellation, the world’s first satellite network for three-dimensional wind data.
The constellation will measure wind speed, direction, and vertical movement globally at hourly, kilometer-scale resolution.
Existing systems relying on weather balloons, aircraft, and satellites provide only sporadic or incomplete 3D wind data.
The project aims to improve renewable energy planning, aviation safety, disaster management, and insurance modelling.
