- It introduced a new tax on tourists to support environmental initiatives.
- The nation’s first “Green Fee, will increase the state’s transient accommodations tax by 0.75%.
- Previously exempted from the TAT (Transient Accommodation Tax), cruise ship passengers will now be included under the new law.
- The new Green Fee tax is projected to generate around $100 million each year.
