The Indian Air Force (IAF) will soon receive its first Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk1A jet.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is contracted to deliver 83 Tejas Mk1A jets.
The IAF currently operates 29 squadrons, below its sanctioned strength of 42, and aims to add around 30-40 aircraft annually to bridge the gap.
Other projects include acquiring 114 Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA), possibly indigenous Rafale jets, and developing the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) by 2035.
