- Alicella gigantea is one of the largest deep-sea amphipods ever recorded
- It is a giant amphipod crustacean that can grow up to 34 cm in length.
- The Researchers compiled 195 records of A. gigantea, from 75 different sites in the deep sea in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans, from depths of 3,890 to 8,931 meters.
