  • Singapore tops the list as Asia’s safest country in 2025.

  • Japan is Asia’s second safest country in 2025, ranked 9th in Asia overall and 12th globally.
  • Malaysia is the third safest country in Asia in 2025, ranked 19th globally.
  • Iceland ranks 1st globally for the 18th consecutive year.
  • It is followed by Ireland in 2nd place and New Zealand in 3rd in 2025.
  • India ranks 115th globally in 2025, unchanged from 2024.
  • Issues like regional disputes, internal tensions, and urban crime affecting its peace score.
  • Russia is ranked the least peaceful country in the world for the first time in 2025, due to ongoing war involvement and militarization.
  • Ukraine ranks second-last globally, as continuing conflict heavily impacts its internal stability and security.
  • The United States ranks 128th in the 2025 index.
  • The U.S. ranks lower than Honduras (124th), Bangladesh (127th), and Uganda (126th) in global peacefulness.
  • France is the most militarized country in Western and Central Europe in 2025.
  • South America is the only region globally to show an overall improvement in peacefulness in the 2025 Index.
  • The 2025 Global Peace Index ranks 163 countries, assessing levels of safety, societal conflict, and militarization across the globe.
  • Iceland, ranked 1st in peace, is also ranked 3rd in the 2025 World Happiness Report, showing a strong correlation between peace and life satisfaction.
