  • The Grand Egyptian Museum has opened in Egypt, showcasing around 100,000 artefacts spanning 7,000 years of history
  • For the first time, the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun is displayed in full, including his gold mask, throne, and chariots.
  • The museum is located near the Great Pyramid of Khufu at Giza.
  • Key exhibits include a 3,200-year-old, 16-metre-long obelisk of Pharaoh Ramesses II, his 11-metre-high statue, and the 4,500-year-old funerary boat of Khufu.
