December 3 , 2025 15 hrs 0 min 6 0
  • GW250114 is a gravitational wave event from the merger of two black holes.
  • Each black hole was about 30 times the mass of the Sun.
  • The merger formed a single, rotating black hole 1.3 billion light-years away.
  • The signal is the clearest and strongest gravitational wave recorded so far.
  • The event confirmed Stephen Hawking’s Black Hole Area Theorem, showing total event horizon area increased after the merger.
