Dhordo village, recognized globally by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation as the ‘Best Tourism Village’, is now fully solar-powered.
It joins three other solar villages in Gujarat: Modhera, Sukhi, and Masali.
Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 177 KW rooftop solar panels were installed in 81 homes, solarizing every residential electricity connection.
The solar system is expected to generate 2.95 lakh units of electricity annually, saving each home about ₹16,064 per year.
Surplus power supplied to the grid will provide additional income, with the village projected to earn over ₹13 lakh annually.
