- Dhordo village, recognized globally by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation as the ‘Best Tourism Village’, is now fully solar-powered.
- It joins three other solar villages in Gujarat: Modhera, Sukhi, and Masali.
- Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 177 KW rooftop solar panels were installed in 81 homes, solarizing every residential electricity connection.
- The solar system is expected to generate 2.95 lakh units of electricity annually, saving each home about ₹16,064 per year.
- Surplus power supplied to the grid will provide additional income, with the village projected to earn over ₹13 lakh annually.
