- The Bill was approved by the Rajya Sabha and amends the Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017.
- The new IIM in Guwahati will start admissions in the 2025-26 academic year.
- The Bill provides a corpus fund of ₹555 crore for IIM Guwahati.
- With this addition, the total number of IIMs in India will be 22.
