India and Canada signed a $1.9 billion uranium supply agreement for 10,000 tonnes of uranium (2027–2035) to support India’s nuclear power plants.
The uranium will be supplied by Canadian company Cameco to support India’s clean energy and nuclear power programme.
Both countries have also agreed to restart negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to increase bilateral trade to $50 billion by 2030.
Canada agreed to join the International Solar Alliance and Global Biofuel Alliance, strengthening cooperation on renewable energy.
The two countries have also decided to improve cooperation in counter-terrorism, security, energy, and technology.
