The 16th India-Japan Annual Summit was held in New Delhi to strengthen the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between the two countries.
India and Japan agreed on the UNICORN (Unified Complex Radio Antenna) project, their first defence co-development programme, and decided to expand defence, maritime security, and joint military cooperation.
Both countries adopted agreements on economic security, clean energy, Artificial Intelligence (AI), resilient supply chains, and cooperation in green hydrogen, biogas, and semiconductors.
They agreed to accelerate the review of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and work towards the ¥10 trillion Japanese investment target in India.
The two countries reaffirmed cooperation for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP), support for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), the Quad, freedom of navigation, and United Nations Security Council (UNSC) reforms.
