- India and New Zealand concluded negotiations for a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
- The agreement aims to strengthen the bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries.
- Under the FTA, tariffs on about 95% of New Zealand’s exports to India will be reduced or removed.
- Both countries expect bilateral trade to double within the next five years.
- New Zealand is expected to invest around 20 billion US dollars in India over the next 15 years.
- This agreement is India’s seventh Free Trade Agreement signed in recent years.
