- The Indian swiftlet (Aerodramus unicolour) was recently spotted at the Adyar Estuary in Chennai.
- It is found in Sri Lanka and southwest India, mainly in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
- Its conservation status in the IUCN, is Least Concern.
