- INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri, multi-mission stealth frigates, were commissioned into the Indian Navy at Visakhapatnam.
- The ships have over 75% indigenous content.
- These frigates strengthen the Indian Navy’s role as first responder and preferred security partner in the Indian Ocean Region.
- Both ships join the Eastern Fleet to improve rapid response and secure sea lanes in the Bay of Bengal and beyond.
