- This day is providing a voice for children who live on the street so their rights cannot be ignored.
- UNICEF has distinguished street children into three broad categories:
- Children working on the street: They’re children who spend most of their time on the streets, fending for themselves, but return home regularly.
- Children whose families are on the street: As the title suggests, they’re children who live on the streets along with their families.
- Children living on the street: They’re children who’ve eloped from their families, living on the streets.
