International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism as and when Conducive to Terrorism 2026 – February 12

The observance aims to raise awareness about violent extremism linked to terrorism and promote international cooperation.
It was established by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 2022.
The Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism was presented by the UN Secretary-General in 2016.
The theme for the year 2026 is “Preventing Violent Extremism in the Age of New and Emerging Technologies”.
