UN established this day to emphasize the importance of non-violence, unity, and harmony in building sustainable societies.
Each year, the Peace Bell (a gift from Japan) is rung at the UN Headquarters in New York as a gesture of global solidarity and non-violence.
Theme for 2025 is “Act Now for a Peaceful World”.
