- They spread across Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
- The markhor was categorized as “Near Threatened” in 2014.
- The number of mature individuals of markhor in the world is approximately 5,700.
- It is the national animal of Pakistan.
