International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2026 - February 11

The day was observed under the leadership of the UN with the support of UNESCO.
It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2015, and first observed in 2016.
The day aims to promote full and equal access to and participation of women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
The theme for 2026 is “From Vision to Impact: Redefining STEM by Closing the Gender Gap.”
UNESCO data states that women account for 35 % of science graduates and one in three researchers worldwide.
