IPU Assembly in Tanzania

Harivansh, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, is leading the Indian Parliamentary Delegation to the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Arusha, Tanzania.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is the global organisation of national parliaments, founded in 1889 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
The IPU works to promote parliamentary dialogue, democracy, peace, human rights and sustainable development among countries.
The Assembly’s theme is “Enhancing good governance and empowering communities through inclusivity, trust and opportunities for all.”
Discussions will cover democracy, human rights, peace and security, artificial intelligence (AI), health, climate change and women’s participation.
